- Waxing
Women and men today are looking for an effective , long lasting
hair removal that leaves their skin soft and supple with a healthy
glow. Waxing is still one of the most popular options of hair
removal.
Benefits of waxing
- Hair takes longer to grow back.
- Area stays softer and smoother longer.
- Waxed hair becomes finer and sparser over time.
- Waxing pulls hair out at the root, or papilla.
- Consistent waxing may result in weakened hair follicles so that
- many unwanted hairs no longer grow back.
- - Hair grows back finer, NOT thick!
Q & A
Does waxing hurt?
Yes, it hurts - a quick pain though. Your Skin Care Therapist uses
techniques and products that minimize your discomfort. Redness
should be expected after most waxing and may last minutes or
possibly several hours.
When should you wax?
Hair length should be a minimum of ¼ inch. Waxing is never done
on clients taking Accutane, Retin A, Renova, Differin or other
types of skin thinning or acne medications.
How long does waxing last?
Individual hair growth varies. Typically, clients wax every three
to four weeks. Heat stimulates hair growth, therefore hair grows
quicker in the summer than in the winter.
Caring for freshly waxed skin
-Avoid exposure to the sun, tanning bed, sauna, steam room or spa
for at least
- 24 hours before and after waxing.
-Scrub skin with a loofah or other exfoliater every time you
shower to remove the
- dead skin layer and prevent ingrown hair.
-Avoid creams, oils or lotions on the area for three to four days
to prevent pores
- from clogging and break-outs.
